Magoria – JtR1888 Rock Opera Bio

In November 2019, Magoria released their debut album ‘JtR1888.’ The double album tells the complete story of ‘Jack the Ripper,’ based on ‘The Royal Conspiracy Theory.’ During a visit to London, guitarist/composer Mark Bogert was inspired by the ‘Jack the Ripper’ story and developed a full rock opera.

The rock opera is performed by nine vocalists and a six-member band who have earned their stripes in Dutch rock/metal music. Each vocalist interprets their own role, from prostitute to Jack the Ripper, ensuring constant vocal variation.

Live, the audience is transported back to the 19th century through music and beautiful costumes specially designed by Petra Jochems. The music ranges from highly bombastic pieces to small piano ballads. Magoria uniquely brings the story of ‘Jack the Ripper’ back to life, prioritizing the experience.
