Anneke van Giersbergen

“It is pleasant to collaborate with Aaron..."

Monitor Sound Engineer

After thirteen years as the frontwoman of the melancholic metal band The Gathering, Anneke van Giersbergen went solo in 2007. Since then, her creativity knows no bounds. Anneke quickly built a successful solo career, lending her serene yet powerful voice to artists like Canadian metal genius Devin Townsend, the Icelandic folk group Árstíðir, the mastermind behind Ayreon, Arjen Lucassen, Amorphis, and progressive legend John Wetton. In 2019, the Dutch music copyright organization Buma Cultuur honored Anneke with the Buma ROCKS! Export Award. This is their award for the most successful Dutch artist abroad in heavy music. In 2021, Anneke released her latest solo album, ‘The Darkest Skies Are The Brightest,’ revealing her soul with the most suggestive album of her career. Later that year, Anneke participated in a popular Dutch television program called “Beste Zangers,” where each episode features a central artist sung to by other singers.

“It is pleasant to collaborate with Aaron. He works in an organized manner, communicates clearly, and fits well within the group; in short, a great sound engineer!”
